VOLUNTEER CORNER

Many volunteers are at work at KSC every day. Some people help make the gardens beautiful; others open the sanctuary for meditations, work in the library, or keep the building in good repair. The open-hearted commitment of our volunteers keeps KSC and our dharma offerings operating smoothly.
Please consider offering a few hours of your time each month to work with your sangha mates while supporting the center. Here are three current opportunities.
 
Publicity Team Leader
 
KSC is looking for a leader for the Publicity Team. This job requires 1-2 hours per week. The Publicity Team includes all the volunteers who help with advertising events at KSC and communicating information to the sangha and the wider public.
 
As team leader, you would provide a steady presence and oversight. As the lamas develop their quarterly schedule, you would be told early which events need publicity.   As a “big picture” person, you would keep an eye out to make sure that all of the publicity “wheels” are running on track.

Security Team Volunteers

The Security Team is seeking some new members to help ensure that our sangha, Lamas, and guests are safe and comfortable. We use a non-aggressive approach: peaceful and compassionate, with concern for anyone with whom we interact.  Team members informally patrol the grounds, especially during special events.
 
A background in security is not necessary as volunteers will be fully trained by our very experienced team leader.  We also do not expect a large time commitment as security rounds will be distributed among team members.

Finally, the volunteer organizing team  is ready to add one or two new members. When sangha members express an interest in volunteering, the Volunteer Organizing Team tries to help them find a way to support the temple that makes the best use of their talents, interests and time schedule so that each person finds a satisfying way in which to serve.
