Led by Lama Liza Baer
Meditation is a powerful tool for mitigating stress, fostering compassion, and helping to navigate life’s challenges. It is also a means for discovering freedom beyond the ups and downs of life, revealing the wisdom and well-being of our natural state. But how do we do it?
In this two-hour workshop, we will learn the basics of calm abiding meditation and how it fits into the overview of Tibetan Buddhism. We will use ordinary experiences such as our breath, sound, body sensations, and visual objects as support for practice, so we can learn how to rest our attention and discover the natural stability of our awareness. Participants will leave the workshop with the ability to establish a daily meditation practice, as well as resources for further practice and study.
Lama Liza Baer completed a traditional three year retreat in the Shangpa Kagyu lineage in 2018 and is currently an Associate Lama at KSC. She teaches classes on the bodhisattva path, leads meditation practices, and also is available for one-on-one meditation consultations.
