The Dharma Kids program serves children in grades K - 5. The program provides a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about and experience the Dharma in ways suitable for children.

One Sunday each month, from 9:00 to 11:30 am.
Join Lama Pema for a guided Calm Abiding Meditation, followed by a tea break and teaching. All are welcome.
In this practice, we rest our attention on a simple meditative support, such as the breath. Instead of following thoughts and emotions as we usually do, we release them and maintain our connection to the support.
Led by Lama Yeshe, Joyful Effort Practice Group focuses on the Ngöndro or Preliminaries meditations.
Meets on Calm Abiding Sundays, noon - 2:00 pm, in-person & via Zoom

Anyone interested in Buddhist studies is welcome to borrow books and various media covering aspects of both Buddhism in general, and Tibetan Buddhism. Also, there are some selective subjects that include studies on death and dying, Buddhist art, and locally recorded teachings by Buddhist teachers.
The KSC Sanctuary is open each Wednesday from noon to 1:00 pm for open meditation. Come meditate in your own way in this sacred space. All are welcome.

A Special Weekend Retreat!

This weekend will introduce the visualization style of meditation, as well as the chance to deepen one’s connection to two compassion practices -- Chenrezig and Tonglen.
One Sunday each month, from 9:00 to 11:30 am.
Join Lama Yeshe for a guided Tonglen Meditation, followed by a tea break and teaching. All are welcome.
The guided Tonglen meditation begins with consideration and transformation of our own sufferings, and moves us outward to encompass the reality of others’ situation.
Led by Lama Pema, this group takes Calm Abiding meditation a step further with contemplating and exploring the mind.
Meets on Tonglen Sundays, 12:30 - 2:00 pm
Zoom only
Prerequisites: Tranquility Group membership of 2+ years or equivalent experience, and the lama’s permission is required.
Led by Lama Pema, this group meets monthly in-person and via Zoom on Wednesday afternoons to deepen insight meditation.
Prerequisites: Insight I Practice Group membership of 2+ years or equivalent

Tranquility Practice Group focuses on foundational meditation theory and practice but is open to anyone who is interested in being part of a group to help support and inspire their ongoing meditation practice.

Hybrid event, open to all, no registration required
Tibetan New Year is celebrated in late February this year. To honor Losar, we practice meditations of cutting through obstacles. This clears the energy of the old year, to make space for a fresh start.
This training is being held for current and new hosts of Thursday evening and Sunday morning meditations. It is also open to all those who are interested in the sanctuary, and the ways that volunteers care for it.

In this day of practice, we will explore meditations adapted from Tibetan Buddhism to learn how to become familiar with the experience of compassion, and more readily access compassion in our daily lives.
Curious about the practices at our temple? Please join us for Newcomers' night! We will gather at 6 pm for a brief Calm Abiding meditation, followed by a very brief explanation of the Refuge Vow. Those wishing to take the vow will then come forward, and the ceremony of receiving the Refuge Vow six will unfold.

Vigil Keepers is an optional additional training offered to everyone who attends a death and dying class at KSC. Join this group and learn Buddhist practices to support those who are experiencing the transition of death and dying.
The retreat site will be Cascade Mountain Ranch, Hugo, Oregon. There is currently a waitlist for this event.

Sangha members are cordially invited to attend the Annual Sangha Meeting to gather and discuss the well-being of our dharma home.
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, April 9 - May 7
During this class, we will explore the process of the body's dying sequence, as well as the Tibetan Buddhist view of what occurs following death.
KSC will once again host an online auction. There will be many gently used dharma items to bid on: meditation cushions, statues, fine art, ritual objects to support practice, jewelry, Tibetan treasures, prayer flags and more. The auction will open on April 7th and bids can be made until 1pm on April 21st.

Kyabjé Kalu Rinpoche will give the Six-Armed Mahakala Empowerment on the weekend of March 30-31, with introduction and instruction on Saturday, and the empowerment and offering celebration on Sunday. As an empowerment, this will be an in-person only event, and will be held at KSC.
A Teaching on Sukhasiddhi
We will explore Sukhasiddhi’s story and those many lineage connections, and then focus on Sukhasiddhi's Introduction to Mahamudra.
