Refuge Vow Ceremony

Refuge Vow Ceremony

Taking the vow of Refuge is the first step onto the Buddhist path. Lama Pema and Lama Yeshe have offered this vow annually in May (except during pandemic times).

We will gather at 6 pm for a short period of calm abiding meditation. Then a very brief introduction will be given to the vow. Those wishing to take the vow will then come forward and the ceremony of stating one’s confidence in the six resources of refuge will unfold.

Beyond those wishing to receive the vow, those who wish to witness the ceremony are welcome to attend, as well as those wanting to internally renew their vow.

Registration is required for all those who wish to attend the vow ceremony. Please indicate if you intend to take the refuge vow when you register.

KSC's COVID Policy

Whether coming to the Center for an event or to meet others, be sure to bring your vaccination card or a photo of the document. KSC highly recommends the booster for additional safety. In addition, please wear a mask, use the hand sanitizer provided, and plan to physically distance. We ask that no refreshments be brought into the Center, so we can remain masked at all times.

Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience as we work to find the safest ways for us to gather. We are so excited to be slowly welcoming everyone back into our beloved Center.
