Buddhist Fundamentals
A Spring Class with Lama Pema, Lama Yeshe and Lama Liza
Via Zoom
Tuition: $145 (or $125 for sustaining members at $30 or more per month)
No one will be turned away for lack of funds
Are there concepts or magic words in Buddhism that mystify you? That make you mad? Or are you curious about some of the ideas you have heard about, and want more information? This class is for you.
In this interactive class, the three lamas will facilitate dialogue and give teachings on the fundamental views of Tibetan Buddhism. This is an invitation to bring all those questions out from under the rug and discuss them within the context of Buddhist practice. Each class will begin with a period of question and discussion, followed by breakout rooms to explore more deeply the weekly meditations and homework. We will then conclude with a teaching by one of the lamas on a key Buddhist principle.
A special feature of this class will be a “field trip” to attend teachings with Mingyur Rinpoche at the Craterion Theater in Medford on April 26. Mingyur Rinpoche is the senior teacher of Tergar International with highly accessible and profound teachings. He is the author of several books including: The Joy of Living; Joyful Wisdom; Turning Confusion into Clarity; and In Love With The World. He has thousands of students from around the globe, and it is a great honor to have him visit us here in Southern Oregon.
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner; whether you practice at KSC or with another Buddhist group; whether you are Buddhist or not – please bring your curiosity and vital interest in your own awakening journey. We look forward to lively discussions and the revitalizing experience of sharing our learning together.
If hybrid hosts can be found, this class will be hybrid – that is, in-person at the KSC sanctuary for those that wish (following KSC’s safety guidelines*) or via Zoom for those that prefer. If hybrid hosts cannot be found, the class will be entirely on Zoom. If you can be a hybrid host, please contact the office, with our thanks.
