Introduction to Refuge

Introduction to Refuge

Following Calm Abiding Meditation via Zoom on April 21st

Each spring (except during the height of the pandemic), the lamas have offered the vow of refuge. At KSC, the ceremony* is preceded by a presentation of the purpose of taking the vow, which is considered the first formal step onto the Buddhist path. Lama Pema’s talk will also include descriptions of the six refuge resources of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, as well as details about the ceremony itself.

*The Refuge Ceremony will be held in the KSC Sanctuary on Thursday, May 12th, 6 – 7:30 pm. Those taking the vow must be present in-person.

COVID Policy
Whether coming to the Center for an event or to meet others, be sure to bring your vaccination card or a photo of the document that shows that the 2 dose series has been completed. KSC highly recommends the booster for additional safety. In addition, please wear a mask, use the hand sanitizer provided, and plan to physically distance. We ask that no refreshments be brought into the Center, so we can remain masked at all times.

Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience as we work to find the safest ways for us to gather. We are so excited to be slowly welcoming everyone back into our beloved Center.
