Personal Practice Retreat
Registration is now closed due to max capacity.
This retreat focuses on individual meditation, with three 90-minute sessions each day for individuals to study and practice in solitude. In addition, there will be periods of silence, dailydharma talks and group meditations.
To design your program, the lamas will set a time before the retreat to discuss your current practices and study interests. With their feedback and recommendations, you will design your practice day, and know what supportive materials to bring with you.
Tuition: $324 for meals and lodging, with a low-income option of $250.
This covers single accommodation with shared bathrooms.
All rooms can be occupied by live-in couples as well.
Maximum participation: 11 individuals or couples.
Dana (generosity) offering for the teachings is requested.
The retreat site is Cascade Lodge, a 50-acre meeting and wedding venue in rural Josephine County. We will be housed in a spacious building, where each person or couple will have their own bedroom, with shared bathrooms. Shared meals are prepared elsewhere on the property, and served outdoors at that location. There is also a kitchen in our building for any private food needs.
There is a large living room for indoor meetings, and a large patio outdoors for group teachings and meditations. Additionally, much land is available for individuals to utilize for private practice sessions, as well as one’s private bedroom. (In case of couples sharing a bedroom, we would recommend alternating its use by session.)
We have chosen this site because of Its large, quiet rural setting, with few people living on the property. The buildings and food are modest and plain – a good support for retreat. The fields and woods are very spacious, and we hope that will provide the spacious state of mind, as well as privacy for our individual study and practice.
As pandemic precautions, we will require proof of vaccination, and proper spacing/masking when indoors for periods of time (except in one’s own room).
We look forward to being in retreat together in person – a rare and special occasion.
